AAUW supports the education of girls through its annual conference, scheduled this year
for March 19. The conference encourages young women to pursue careers in science,
technology, engineering and mathematics.

EYH supports the evidence that the more math and science a student takes in school the
more opportunities they will have for a successful future, especially given the predicted
shortage of citizens to fill needed positions in these areas in U.S. businesses.

Registration for the 2011 conference will be accepted through February 10. Lunch is free
and participants will receive a t-shirt, tote bag and packet of information about careers in
science. Students can obtain a registration form from their math or science teachers
beginning January 31.
