Suarez Excels On Court And In Classroom

Sophomore Juan Suarez (Nogales, AZ, Nogales High School) was named to the RMAC Men’s Basketball All-Academic Honor Roll, the RMAC announced Tuesday.

After playing in all 19 games this season, starting in six, Suarez leads the team in assists with 64 or 3.4 a game. His best game so far this year was against the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs Mountain Lions just before winter break. He recorded six assists, three steals, and five points.

Suarez has a 3.46 grade point average prior to the basketball season while working towards his accounting degree.

To qualify for Academic All-RMAC, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.30 or better, be a starter or reserve, and completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their current institution. RMAC Sports Information Directors at schools that sponsor the sport of men’s basketball selected First and Second Team Academic All-RMAC.
